When cyclists come to Retul Studios to get their bike fit optimized, they often wonder what kind of performance gains they will see after their positional changes. While performance gains are important, a knowledgabe fitter will look at the effect of that position on the long term health of the rider. In other words, trying to hold a super performance oriented position might cause unecessary pain in the future, which will degrade your training and ultimately your overall performance on the bike. Thus when superstar riders come in for a fit, often times Retul studios will apply the 'less is more' theory to their bike fit application, which means sacrificing some aerodynamics for a more sustainable position which nets performance gains over the long run, but even more importantly.....the rider is now less injury prone.
A recent testament to the bike fit services of Retul Studios was Team Tibco's Joanne Kiesanowski. "Jo's LOOK was dialed when she left here and she should certainly see some performance gains," said fitter Todd Carver.
Congrats on taking top honors in the Womens CAT 1/2, Joanne!
